The Enneagram Center for Transformation and Change
Michael Naylor, M.ED, CCS, LADC
Michael Naylor is an Authorized Enneagram Teacher who was trained by Don Riso and Russ
Hudson of the Enneagram Institute, the global leaders of Enneagram education. He is also a
Faculty-in-Training at the Enneagram Institute. He has been a student of the Enneagram for
fifteen years, and utilizes the Enneagram in his personal transformation, and in his work with
clients recovering from addictions. He currently does workshops at the Health and Education
Institute in Portland, Maine, and at the University of Maine's Continuing Education program. He
also presents Riso-Hudson Authorized workshops in New England. He is a Licensed Alcohol and
Drug Counselor and Certified Clinical Supervisor, and has his Master's degree in Health
Education from the University of Maine in Orono, and a B.S. in psychology and physical education
from the same. He is the Clinical Supervisor of Serenity House located in Portland, a residential
treatment facility for men recovering from addiction. He also co-facilitates Courageous Men’s
Intimacy Groups. He has spent the past 26 years in the field of addiction, and has worked
extensively with men dealing with addictions and with men’s spiritual transformation. He has
studied a wide array of health and transformation approaches, including studies of Buddhism,
Gurdjieff, the Forum, breathe work, martial arts, dance, Diamond Heart, writing, and a variety of
meditation practices. He has found that the suffering caused by emotional or addiction relapse,
whether an individual has been drug-free for many years or is newly in recovery, is the result of a
lack of knowledge, presence, and understanding of one's Type. The core misunderstanding of
each Type inevitably leads them back to habitual suffering and self-destructive reactivity.
Whether it is done by addiction relapse, or by recurring and tenacious emotional reactions that
destroy intimacy, or by the way each Type disassociates from reality thus cutting themselves off
from innate joy, aliveness, inner knowing, spontaneity, and sense of deep and unwavering value—
the Enneagram is a map and doorway to their freedom. He lives with his beloved wife, Donna,
who is an Enneagram Consultant, teacher and artist who hopes to be Certified by the Enneagram
Institute in the next year. He also is graced by two delightful and inspiring step-kids, and a
wonderful daughter.
Donna Mead, BA, CMT
Donna is an Enneagram Consultant, who is actively on a Certification Path with the Enneagram
Institute in New York. She has a bachelors degree in Social/Behavioral Science from the
University of Maine in Portland, with a minor in Early Childhood Education. She is a Certified
Massage Therapist and has certificates in Polarity Therapy and Healing Touch. For the past
twenty-five years she has worked with children and families and is currently employed at Pine
Grove Montessori School. She hopes to use the Enneagram to teach parenting classes and lead
workshops for teachers to assist them in communicating more effectively with the Nine Types of
children they serve. In addition, Donna is studying art and intends to complete a Master's degree
in Art Therapy. She looks forward to teaching classes with her soul-mate and husband, Michael.
She is the mother of a comedian, sweet heart, Type Two daughter, and an avant guard,
mysteriously creative, quirky Four son.
